Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate will make late decisions on a trio of players before naming his side to face Liverpool in the Barclays Premiership tomorrow evening.

Stewart Downing (groin), Lee Cattermole (dead leg) and Andrew Taylor (calf) were all forced to withdraw from international duty in midweek and are rated only 50-50.

Chris Riggott (ankle ligaments) and Ugo Ehiogu (Achilles) returned to action for the reserves earlier this week, but the game could come too soon.

Mark Viduka (broken toes) continues his recovery and will not play, but Julio Arca is back after a foot problem.

Provisional squad: Schwarzer, Jones, Turnbull, Xavier, Davies, Huth, Woodgate, Pogatetz, Taylor, Arca, Boateng, Downing, Cattermole, Morrison, Rochemback, Euell, Mendieta, Yakubu, Maccarone, Graham.
