Cork have battled back from five points down to cut the deficit to one against Galway in their All-Ireland hurling qualifier game at Semple Stadium.

Galway went into a five point to no score lead and Eugene Cloonan was causing early problems for the Cork back line.

Joe Deane grabbed Cork's first point from a free in the 15th minute and grabbed his second and Cork's first from play two minutes later.

Ben O'Connor swapped scores with Richie Murray before O'Connor landed a beauty from a sideline cut.

Eugene Cloonan and Fergal Healey added further scores before a Galway goal-keeping error gifted Joe Deane a goal to level the scores.

However, Fergal Healey got his second to take the Tribesmen into the lead.
