Supermodel Kate Moss, whose career has been in freefall since she was pictured apparently indulging in a marathon cocaine session, will start rehab in the next 24 hours, sources said tonight.
Moss, who has already lost lucrative contracts with H&M, Burberry and Chanel because of the drug allegations, will be seeking treatment abroad, sources said.
The Croydon-born model is not currently in the UK and will be staying away, they added.
Moss’s world was turned upside down a week and a half ago when pictures were published apparently showing her snorting lines of coke in a recording studio with her on-off lover Pete Doherty.
More allegations of drink and drug-fuelled lesbian sex sessions and wild parties at her mansion in Gloucestershire appeared a week later.
Labels swiftly started to disassociate themselves from the star, with H&M the first to cancel a planned advertising campaign.
Burberry followed and then fashion house Chanel also said they would not be extending her contract when it expires next month.
A multi-million pound contract with cosmetic giant Rimmel still hangs in the balance as they continue to consider the model’s future.
A spokeswoman for Coty Beauty, which manages the make-up firm, said tonight: “Nothing has changed. We have welcomed and acknowledged her statement and apology but we are still reviewing her contract. We do however offer her and anyone else going through the same thing all our support.”
Rimmel may still be contemplating their relationship with the mother of one but her agency, Storm, have given Moss their full support.
Storm managing director, Sarah Doukas, who discovered the model in JFK airport when she was 14, said tonight that she had never been anything other than the consummate “professional”.
In a statement, she said: “I feel compelled to speak out in defence of Kate Moss following recent days of speculation and in many cases ill-informed and inaccurate stories.
“I know Kate and I have represented her for the last 18 years. Over this time she has consistently demonstrated herself to be a professional and exceptional model and a loyal, special and dear friend to me and countless others.”
Storm would “fully support Kate both professionally and personally” throughout this “difficult time”, she added.
Kate Moss initially kept quiet about the allegations but made a public statement last Thursday.
She said: “I take full responsibility for my actions. I also accept that there are various personal issues that I need to address and have started taking the difficult yet necessary steps to resolve them.
The model also apologised to all the people she had “let down because of my behaviour”.
