Danny Mills will face no action for his challenge on Morten Gamst Pedersen during Saturday’s goalless draw between Manchester City and Blackburn.
Mills clashed with the Rovers midfielder in an otherwise forgettable Eastlands encounter, leaving Pedersen clearly unhappy.
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes played the collision down and, in his report of the game, referee Martin Atkinson admitted he had missed the incident.
And after reviewing the clash today, the Football Association have opted not to take the matter further.
It is good news for City boss Stuart Pearce, who has seen his squad decimated by injuries this season and was without Joey Barton for the Rovers clash after the combative midfielder picked up five bookings.
Instead, Pearce found himself frustrated by the loss of yet another reserve game, as the second string Manchester derby fell victim to freezing fog.
It is the third time in as many weeks a City reserve match has been called off, denying Robbie Fowler and Trevor Sinclair of vital game time in their bid to reach full fitness after recent injuries.
Meanwhile, Finnish midfielder Tuomas Haapala will stay on trial with City for another week.
The 26-year-old midfielder spent the last seven days with the Eastlands outfit and was due to join Vicenza on a week’s trial after being offered a contract by the Italian Serie B outfit.
However, Pearce has been impressed enough with Haapala to ask him to stay on and the MyPa skipper has enthusiastically agreed.
“Vicenza have already offered me a contract but when City wanted to keep me I didn’t need to think twice about it,” Haapala told Sky Sports.
