The UCD campus company, RealFoodatHome, has announced it has secured a substantial second round of funding from a leading Irish financial institution.
RealFoodatHome has developed an online food delivery service where customers can order ready to cook meal kits from their website, which has menus changing weekly.
As a campus company, RealFoodatHome benefited greatly during its early stage of development by participating on NovaUCD's 2002 Campus Company Development Programme (CCDP).
This business support programme, which lasts nine months, assists entrepreneurs in developing their business ideas through a series of workshops, intensive coaching, mentoring and practical business assignments.
The CCDP, which has run annually since 1996, is delivered by NovaUCD, UCD's Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre and is part-funded by Enterprise Ireland.
RealFoodatHome was founded in 2001 by Fabrizio Memon, a UCD MBA graduate.
The company's other two Directors are chef Neil McFadden, a former executive chef at Luttrelstown Castle, and chef Ray O'Haire, previously head chef at Campbell Catering.
