For more than 30 years, lesbians and gay men have used the anniversary of New York's stonewall riots to celebrate their sexuality.

Thousands are expected to take part in the annual pride parade through the City Centre.

The treasurer of the organising committee, Paul Byrne, said the event gets great support from the City Council.
