Bad day for ISEQ

The ISEQ index of Irish shares plummeted this evening, dropping 232.36 points to 6321.02 at market close.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares plummeted this evening, dropping 232.36 points to 6321.02 at market close.

All the financial heavyweights suffered a loss with Irish Life and Permanent leading the way falling 77c to €12.54. Anglo Irish Bank lost 74c off its share price to €8.60 with Bank of Ireland down 64c to €9.36. AIB fared better but remained in negative territory falling 17c to €13.95.

Elsewhere, the negative trend continued within the construciton sector. Grafton fell 37c to €5.90. Kingspan was down 36c to €8.84, with McInerney falling a modest 5c to €1.21.
