Deaths of Swiss couple on Lough Ree attributed to hypothermia

An inquest into the deaths of a Swiss couple, whose bodies were found in Lough Ree this week, has been told the two died of hypothermia.

An inquest into the deaths of a Swiss couple, whose bodies were found in Lough Ree this week, has been told the two died of hypothermia.

The body of 71-year-old Walter Borner was found in the lake yesterday and that of his wife, Ruth Borner, was found on Monday.

The hearing, in Roscommon courthouse, has been adjourned until the second week of October, to allow gardaí to complete an investigation into the deaths.
