Sophie Ellis-Bextor has signed up for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The 'Murder on the Dancefloor' hitmaker is rumoured to have signed a deal worth £25,000 (€29,000) to appear on the next series of the ballroom dancing show.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Sophie is a great signing. She'll bring her showbiz connections with her as well as some glamour.

"She is already being touted as one to watch on the dancefloor."

The mum-of-three will be supported from the sidelines by her husband Richard Jones, the bassist from the band The Feeling.

The 34-year-old singer is expected to use the BBC One show as a platform for a musical comeback, since she is currently finishing work on her fifth studio album.

Sophie is the third star to be named in relation to 'Strictly' after it was revealed footballer's wife Abbey Clancy had signed on, as well as Hairy Bikers cook Dave Myers, who has shed over 3st to get into shape for the programme.

Abbey was reportedly given a £35,000 deal on top of a £3m abode in London to share with her husband Peter Crouch in a bid to help her cut down on her commute time to the training sessions.
