Ireland winger Hickie was ruled out of the World Cup after medics confirmed he will require immediate surgery on a serious Achilles injury suffered in Saturday's nail biting 17-16 defeat to Australia.

Meanwhile, Quinlan dislocated his shoulder in the Pool A win over Argentina a week earlier.

Denis Hickie will arrive in Dublin airport at 9am from London and Alan Quinlan will arrive in Shannon at 11.30am.
