Two Fianna Fáil TDs are supporting calls for an inquiry into the banking crisis.

Mary O'Rourke and Mattie McGrath said an investigation is needed to "address the public's concerns, establish what went wrong and set out clear structures for the future".

The Governor of the Central Bank, Professor Patrick Honohan, said this week he believes there will be an inquiry into the causes of the recent crisis, a view that has been supported by the Green Party leader John Gormley.

Deputy Mary O'Rourke said "There is no doubt that an inquiry is needed."
