It was the latest piece of work the multiple Group One winner has done this year in the lead-up to the Sheema Classic on March 25 at Nad Al Sheba.

Speaking on his website, www.edunlop.com, the Newmarket handler said: “I am pleased with the way she worked. She didn’t do a huge amount. It was her third piece – she’d previously done two gentle canters.

“She seems to be taking her work well and continues to look well. Touch wood, things are going in the right direction.”

Dunlop has also revealed that Court Masterpiece has been handed an invite for the Godolphin Mile, which features as part of the under-card to the Dubai World Cup on March 25.

The son of Polish Precedent proved most progressive in 2005, capping his campaign with a Group One triumph in the Prix De La Foret.

His last outing saw him finish a creditable fifth in the Hong Kong Mile in December and now connections are weighing up whether to target the contest at Nad Al Sheba as the starting-point for his six-year-old campaign.

Dunlop said: “It is a Group Two race for which he wouldn’t have to carry a penalty for winning a Group One. But if he’s not ready, then we will wait for the turf season with him.”

Another Gainsborough Stables’ inmate who is likely to be contesting stakes races this year is Lake Shabla, who caught the eye when winning a mile maiden at Lingfield last Saturday.

The Silver Hawk filly made an impressive debut, storming from last under jockey Paul Hanagan to collar Just Logic in the final strides for a short-head victory.

Dunlop reported: “I was thrilled with her win and Paul Hanagan was impressed with her.

“We will put her away now – she won’t run again on the dirt – and we will give her a couple of smart entries. We will probably run her in an Oaks trial and see where we are with her.”
