Guineas money for Swallow

Grey Swallow, impressive winner of the Group Three Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown in October, has hardened in the betting for next year’s Classics with Ladbrokes.

Grey Swallow, impressive winner of the Group Three Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown in October, has hardened in the betting for next year’s Classics with Ladbrokes.

The firm report significant money for the son of Daylami today and have cut Dermot Weld’s colt to 5-1 from 7-1 for next year’s 2000 Guineas.

They have eased One Cool Cat out to 9-4 from 2-1 at the head of the market.

“He is clearly a class act and we have laid the horse considerably today,” said spokesman Balthazar Fabricius.

Ladbrokes make Grey Swallow 12-1 co-favourite for the Vodafone Derby.

Fabricius added: “Given that Daylami got a mile and a half, the Guineas-Derby double may not be out of the question.”

Ladbrokes bet:

2000 Guineas: 9-4 One Cool Cat, 5-1 Grey Swallow, 10-1 Three Valleys, 12-1 Lucky Story, 14-1 Pearl Of Love, 16-1 Milk It Mick, 25-1 Akimbo, Auditorium, Batchelor Duke, Fantastic View, Haafhd, Imperial Stride, Magritte, Snow Ridge, Whipper, 33-1 bar.

Vodafone Derby: 12-1 American Post, Grey Swallow, Yeats, 16-1 Magritte, Snow Ridge, 25-1 Moscow Ballet, Pearl Of Love, 33-1 Akimbo, Duke Of Venice, Five Dynasties, Imperial Stride, Lucky Story, Salford City, Sussex, Wolfe Tone, 40-1 bar.
