Girl killed in Mayo crash

A 12-year-old girl died after the car in which she was a back seat passenger collided with an SUV, gardaí said today.

A 12-year-old girl died after the car in which she was a back seat passenger collided with an SUV, gardaí said today.

The crash happened at Old Head in Louisburgh, Co Mayo, at around 5pm yesterday.

The girl was taken to Mayo General Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

A 10-year-old girl who was also a passenger in the car remains in a serious condition at Mayo General Hospital.

Gardaí in Louisburgh are investigating.
