Leeds United are interested in signing Feyenoord’s Australian midfielder Brett Emerton, according to a report.
The Yorkshire Post claims that manager David O’Leary travelled to Holland on Sunday to watch Emerton play against Heerenveen in Rotterdam and spoke to Feyenoord president Jorien van den Herik after the match.
Feyenoord spokesman Jon Schwartz told the paper: ‘‘They, O’Leary and van den Herik, had coffee and talked in the President’s Club and talked about many things, including Emerton, but Feyenoord are still waiting to see if Leeds meet the valuation of the player.
‘‘Leeds have not made an official bid and it is up to them where they go from here.’’
The club are believed to want around £8m (€12.9m) for the midfielder.
