Dubai Destination, winner of the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, has been retired to stud.
The Godolphin-owned four-year-old finished fifth in the Prix Jacques Le Marois before trailing home a bitterly disappointing last in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes last month.
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor told the Racing Post: “He was a really beautiful horse with a good turn of foot and had the class to win big races.”
Dubai Destination, a son of Kingmambo, beat Rock Of Gibraltar in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster as a two-year-old but he only raced once at three after suffering an injury.
The colt bounced back to win a conditions event at Nottingham before going on to Royal Ascot where he beat a top-class field including Hawk Wing.
Bin Suroor added: “He beat the best miler at Ascot and it was a great day; he showed just what a good horse he was.”
A decision is still to be made on Dubai World Cup winner Moon Ballad who disappointed badly when last in the Grade One Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont.
“There has been no final decision but he came back fit and healthy after the race,” bin Suroor said.
