Los Angeles increases security after 'specific' security threat

Security has been increased at metro stations across Los Angeles after what is being described as a "specific" threat of a terror attack today.

In an anonymous call to authorities, a man threatened to blow up Universal City station.

The station is less than a kilometre from the Hollywood Universal Studios theme park.

Los Angeles County sheriff Jim McDonnell said: "We received this threat this morning.

"We've been running this to ground all day long. This could be real or it could be a hoax, but we must remain calm but vigilant."
