VIDEO: Fan reactions to THE death in Game of Thrones finale

Now that 'don't look at the internet day' is over for Irish Game of Thrones fans, we can finally talk about the season finale which aired in Europe last night.

We hope you made it all the way to Monday night without spoilers.

It was a good 'un, with plenty of surprises even for the superior race of book readers, which the show has now caught up to.

And then there was that death.

You know the one.

Seven hells! SPOILERS below. REALLY.

Yes, Jon Snow – the bastard of Winterfell, 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, and general rugged heartthrob - met his unfortunate demise in the season finale.

This compilation of reaction videos from fans watching that scene is, as denizens of the internet might say, "all of us". The agony.

And there was much head-shaking and tears, as a firm fan favourite bites the dust.

And, course there was Maisie Williams, or, as you might know her, Arya Stark.

Now, there are plenty of theories out there that this might not be the end for Snow. We don't know if he's actually dead, or just mortally wounded.

We've seen resurrection in the books and series before, and there are a lot of sub-plots set up with Snow that just wouldn't go anywhere without him.

Then again, I've been reading the books since 2003, and not once has George RR Martin ever done anything that I thought he might.

So don't hold your breath - remember how Eddard Stark was the main character of season one?
