Independent News & Media has appointed group political editor Fionnan Sheahan as editor of the Irish Independent and excecutive editor Cormac Bourke as editor of the Sunday Independent.
Both men take up their new roles with immediate effect.
Fionnan Sheehan takes up the role after serving as the group political editor of Independent News & Media since 2013.
Cormac Bourke has been responsible for the daily production and news delivery on the Irish Independent for the past 18 months.
The Irish Independent sells 112,383 copies per day and has a readership of 691,000.
The Sunday Independent has weekly sales of 220,565 copies, and a readership of 992,000.
