Elan leads ISEQ slump
The ISEQ index slipped back in trading today, closing down 17.69 to end the day at 5,807.51.
Financial stocks were in positive territory today. Allied Irish Bank shares climbed 1c to €13.78 while Bank of Ireland climbed 9c to €11.03.
It was another good day for shares in Anglo-Irish Bank, which rose 22c to €15.57. Shares in Irish Life & Permanent slipped 5c to €13.45.
Meanwhile Ryanair stock ended the day up 4c today to €4.73 after this week's announcement of a 15% profit surge.
Shares in pharmaceutical giant Elan fell back considerably today, falling 75c to €20.44.
Shares in building materials giant CRH fell 26c to €18.90.
Elsewhere shares in Kerry ended up 17c to €17.97.
The most traded shares today were Bank of Ireland, AIB, Anglo-Irish Bank, CRH and Irish Life.
