Amanda Perrett’s Chocolate Caramel found the drop into claiming company to his liking in the CSL Scaffolding Stakes at York.

Amanda Perrett’s Chocolate Caramel found the drop into claiming company to his liking in the CSL Scaffolding Stakes at York.

With £11,000 on offer, it was a decent race for the grade and the six-year-old, who has an official rating of 85, showed a willing attitude to beat Inchloch by half a length.

Jim Crowley was seen at his strongest on the 11-2 shot and connections attributed his return to form to the quick surface on the Knavesmire.

“He’s been finding it difficult in handicaps of late, the handicapper has given him no chance,” said Mark Perrett, the trainer’s husband.

“He doesn’t handle cut, that’s why he disappointed last time.”
