The ISEQ index of Irish shares finished the day in the black, up 12.03 points to 7628.08.
The financial sector enjoyed mostly mixed fortunes. AIB gained 28c to €18.82 while Bank of Ireland remained unchanged at €14.40.
Irish Life and Permanent fell 11c to €17.29 while Anglo Irish Bank slipped 8c to €12.94.
Elsewhere oil stocks fell today, with Dragon Oil down six cent to €3.15 and Tullow Oil down 11c to €4.22.
Fyffes suffered one of the day's biggest losses with stock falling 9c to €2.10.
