Clontarf 27 UCD 6

Half-backs Fiach O’Loughlin and Peter O’Brien shared out three tries as Clontarf got back to winning ways at Castle Avenue today.

Scrum half O’Loughlin, ‘Tarf’s captain this season, and prop Johnny Wickham both crossed in the first half as Phil Werahiko’s hosts built up a 15-3 lead.

Both scores came from forward drives and it was in the pack where ‘Tarf dominated throughout.

UCD out-half Ian Keatley kicked two penalties, either side of half-time.

The students’ defence was completely undone when O’Brien waltzed in twice, and full-back Darragh O’Shea converted the second effort to end ‘Tarf’s seventh straight win over UCD.

Scorers:

Clontarf: Tries: Fiach O’Loughlin, Peter O’Brien 2, Johnny Wickham; Cons: Darragh O’Shea 2; Pen: O’Shea

UCD: Pens: Ian Keatley 2
