The ESB is due to hold a public forum today to explain the energy regulator’s decision to limit the generation of electricity through wind power.

The ESB is due to hold a public forum today to explain the energy regulator’s decision to limit the generation of electricity through wind power.

The regulator announced the move after the ESB said the intermittent nature of wind power was creating difficulties on the national grid.

Environmentalists have criticised the decision, saying Ireland is already lagging behind other European countries, despite having the best conditions for wind generation.
