The Football Association have dismissed Darren Purse's appeal against his sending off in Birmingham's match against Fulham.
The Blues defender was dismissed for wrestling Luis Boa Morte to the ground as the Fulham striker ran off with the ball seconds after Mikael Forssell's second goal in the 2-2 draw.
The matter was submitted to the video advisory panel but the FA revealed that Purse will serve a three-match ban following Saturday's game at Leeds.
A statement on the FA's official website read: "We can confirm that Birmingham defender Darren Purse's appeal against his sending off against Fulham has been unsuccessful. He will therefore serve a three-match suspension for violent conduct."
