ISEQ up in morning trading

The ISEQ index of Irish shares soared this morning up 122.36 points to 6214.13 by 11.15am.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares soared this morning up 122.36 points to 6214.13 by 11.15am.

The financial heavyweights all enjoyed a positive morning with Anglo Irish Bank leading the way jumping 31c to €8.11. Irish Life and Permanent was up 26c to €11.10 with AIB just behind up 24c to €13.31. Bank of Ireland followed the trend with a modest 10c gain to €8.99.

CRH came out on top as the morning's best performer soaring 51c to €23.75. Others paled in comparison, Grafton was up 10c to €5.30, Kingspan gained 12c to €7.66 and McInerney bucked the positive trend dropping 2c off its share price to 91c.
