Dermot Earley will return to the Kildare football team for this Sunday’s Leinster semi-final against Offaly, his first start since a cancer scare last winter.

Earley replaces Ronan Feeney in midfield, while Eddie McCormack replaces his namesake, Derek, at half-forward.

Elsewhere, hurling goalkeeper Brendan Cummins and All-Star Declan Browne retain their places in the Tipperary side to face Clare in Sunday’s Munster football semi-final replay, while the Limerick footballers are unchanged for their qualifying rematch against Cavan.

In hurling, Damien Joyce will make his first competitive start for Galway in their qualifier against Down, coming in at corner-back ahead of Gregory Kennedy.

Joe Rabbitte will miss the game due to a broken thumb, while the injured Eugene Cloonan’s place at full-forward has been left vacant. Both Kerins brothers are due to start at half-forward.

Dublin have made eight positional changes to their forwards for Sunday’s qualifying tie with Clare. Paul O’Donoghue will play instead of Tomas McGraine, while Tommy Moore replaces Karl Meehan in midfield.

Clare have brought in Conor Earley for injured left corner-forward Tony Carmody.
