French coach Roger Lemerre has said that he might call Nicolas Anelka into his World Cup squad if Thierry Henry is forced to withdraw because of his knee injury.

Henry has been bothered by the injury since joining the French training camp 10 days ago, after winning the FA Cup and the Premiership with Arsenal.

He did not play in the friendly clash against Belgium on Saturday night and also sat out yesterday’s practice match against the Urawa Reds of Japan.
