Luca Cumani hopes Curtain Call can overcome a high draw in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp tomorrow.
The colt will start the mile-and-a-half showpiece from stall 13 on the wide outside when he bids to put a nightmare run in the Irish Derby behind him.
Curtain Call was badly hampered when Alessandro Volta veered violently across the course a furlong out as he was making his challenge.
“The draw could have been better. Hopefully over a mile and a half it will be less important but it would have been nicer to have a more midfield draw,” said Cumani.
“He’s come round now since the Curragh. He did a good piece of work on Wednesday and we are happy with him.”
Curtain Call will have a third different jockey in as many races, with Frankie Dettori taking over from Fran Berry.
Berry had replaced Jamie Spencer, who steered him into 10th place in the Vodafone Derby.
Epsom fourth Doctor Fremantle is also in the line-up as he attempts to give owner Khalid Abdullah another victory in the race he sponsors following Zambezi Sun’s success 12 months ago.
“He’s in good form, he’s come out of the Derby well,” said the owner’s racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe.
“This has always been his target since then and he’s trained well into it.”
A 13-strong field includes three from the powerful Aidan O’Brien team, headed by Alessandro Volta, and a third British raider in the shape of John Gosden’s Centennial.
