Man charged over Waterford murders

A man has been charged in connection with the double murder in Waterford over the weekend.

A man has been charged in connection with the double murder in Waterford over the weekend.

46-year-old Declan Power was charged with two counts of murder at a special sitting of Dungarvan District Court last night.

Power is accused of the murder of his wife Joan in the Ardmore area of the county.

Ms Power died of fatal stab wounds.

Mr Power is also accused of the murder of Maurice Curran, a publican in Cashmore and Ms Power's former employer.

Mr Curran died of gunshot injuries.
