American woman dies following fall at Glendalough

An American woman in her twenties has died from the injuries she sustained in a fall at Glendalough earlier today.

An American woman in her twenties has died from the injuries she sustained in a fall at Glendalough earlier today.

The woman was among a group of about 20 people who were hiking along the ‘Wicklow way’ when two of the group members got into difficulty.

The Irish Coastguard helicopter was called to the scene and airlifted the two injured hikers to Tallaght Hospital where the woman later died from her injuries but the second person’s injuries are described as minor.

It is believed that the dead woman was from Chicago.
