'Westgate' planning application to be lodged this week

The Government has announced that a planning application for the €500m 'Westgate' development near Heuston Station in Dublin will be submitted this week.

The Government has announced that a planning application for the €500m 'Westgate' development near Heuston Station in Dublin will be submitted this week.

The proposed development, on a 10-acre site occupied by Eircom and the Office of Public Works, would include offices, apartments and recreation facilities.

The Government said the project is designed to regenerate the area around Heuston Station and Kilmainham.
