South African charged over stolen cheques

A South African woman has appeared before a special sitting of Cork district court charged in connection with the seizure of €100,000 worth of stolen travellers cheques.

A South African woman has appeared before a special sitting of Cork district court charged in connection with the seizure of €100,000 worth of stolen travellers cheques.

29-year-old Nokolunga Idris was remanded in custody at Limerick prison to appear in court again on Monday morning.

The woman was arrested yesterday afternoon at Cork airport and taken to Toghar garda station.

She was held under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

When charged in court, the South African made no reply.

The judge remanded her in Limerick prison to reappear in Cork district court on Monday.
