Setanta O'hAilpin has been given a vote of confidence by Carlton Blues assistant coach Tony Elshaugh ahead of the new Aussie Rules season.
The former Young Hurler of the Year is currently away at a pre-season training camp in New South Wales where his form as a high-fielding forward has been undeniable.
O'hAilphin, who turns 23 next month, hit two goals in an intra-club match in Newcastle yesterday, and should get his chance to impress in the pre-season NAB Cup which begins for the Blues against Geelong on February 25.
Elshaugh said of the Corkman: "He (Setanta) marked the ball very well, he's a good strong mark.
"He's fought hard for two years, put in a lot of effort and a lot of intensity. I've got no doubt he'll get more game time, based on performance."
O'hAilpin scored a goal on his Premiership debut against Richmond last May, but since then, has failed to tie down a regular place in the Carlton squad.
The new AFL Premiership campaign starts in April.
