Armed raider holds up bookmakers in Co Tipperary

Gardaí in Tipperary are investigating an armed robbery at a bookmakers in Roscrea last night.

The incident happened shortly after 8.30pm when a man entered Hackets bookmakers on Main Street while a staff member was closing the premises.

The lone raider, who was armed with what Gardaí believe was a firearm, escaped on foot with an undisclosed quantity of cash.

Nobody was injured during the raid.
