Dessie Dolan has been handed a starting role by Westmeath manager Pat Flanagan for their Leinster SFC semi-final clash against Louth on Sunday at Croke Park (throw-in 5.50pm).

Dolan, who featured as a substitute in Westmeath's slender 0-15 to 1-11 win over Wicklow, will start at full-forward in place of Martin Flanagan.

Flanagan has failed to overcome an ankle injury sustained in the victory over the Garden County side.

Sunday's game will mark Championship debuts for defender Kevin Maguire and Flanagan's Tyrrellspass club colleague Ger Egan.

Maguire is handed his first start at left corner back, with John Gaffey dropping to the bench.

Egan has been named at left half-forward, alongside the returning Derek Heavin and Conor Lynam, who scored three points against Wicklow.
