Derry dropped two vital points as dogged Bohs did Dublin rivals Shelbourne an unwitting favour at the Brandywell tonight.

Bohs stunned Derry to take a 24th minute lead.

Derry twice lost possession as Bohs broke down the left through Stephen Ward and he found Mark Leech who put skipper Kevin Hunt in on goal to shoot past David Forde.

Derry were much better into the second half and levelled on 54 minutes with a brilliant volley from Kevin McHugh.

However, huff and puff as they might, the Candystripes just couldn’t find a winner and they've now slipped nine points behind leaders Shels, though with three games in hand.
