Emergency services were tonight tackling a fire at a prison in Northern Ireland.

Emergency services were tonight tackling a fire at a prison in Northern Ireland.

The blaze was reported at around 8pm at Bann House in Maghaberry Prison.

It occurred as talks in London broke up for the night between members of the Prison Officers’ Association and the Northern Ireland Office about safety in Northern Ireland's jails.

The block at Maghaberry contains loyalist prisoners and other inmates.
