An Post agrees to provide cash services for NIB customers

National Irish Bank and An Post have today announced a new partnership to offer cash services to the Bank’s customers.

National Irish Bank and An Post have today announced a new partnership to offer cash services to the Bank’s customers.

From the end of the year, National Irish Bank’s personal and business customers will be able to lodge and withdraw cash and lodge cheques at over 1,200 post offices nationwide.

An Post Chief Executive, Donal Connell said" "This reinforces An Post’s strategic commitment to further expanding the range of financial services available at post offices. Our retail business is performing very strongly and we’re investing heavily in staff training, new technology and improved premises so National Irish Bank customers will enjoy the very highest standards of customer service and convenience at their local post office."

National Irish Bank’s customers will be able to lodge cash and cheques to their accounts at post offices.

Customers will also be able to withdraw cash from their National Irish Bank accounts using their existing National Irish Bank ATM cards. Customers can also continue to lodge cheques at their National Irish Bank branch.

Today’s announcement follows a recently announced restructuring by National Irish Bank to its business.

The most significant change is that the bank is taking away the traditional branch counter and there will be no cash transactions within its branches.

This service will now be provided by An Post through its much larger network.

National Irish Bank customers will also benefit from An Post’s longer opening hours (9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays).

The new service will be available from post offices from the end of the year.
