City missing seven for trip to St Pat's
St Patrick’s Athletic look to continue their unbeaten run as they host Cork City in what should be a keenly contested tie at Richmond Park tonight.
The Saints were impressive in beating Derry City 2-0 last weekend as they continue without James Chambers and Mark Rossiter who are both out with knee injuries.
Greg Bolger sits out the game as he serves a one-match ban having reached four yellow cards.
St Patrick’s Athletic boss Liam Buckley is not phased by the absences.
Buckley said: "We’re missing a few bodies at the moment, but thankfully we’ve lads who are ready to come in as Cork’s form in the last few weeks has been very good and Tommy has them playing well.
"You expect a difficult game from any Cork City side so they’ll come here full of confidence."
Cork held on to win 3-2 against Bray after a topsy-turvy clash last week and the Leesiders have won three of their last four fixtures.
Shane O’Connor (foot), Jamie Murphy (ankle), Stephen Mulcahy, Kevin Murray and Neal Horgan (all knee) are out for City while John Dunleavy is rated as 50/50 with a knee injury.
Gavin Kavanagh is missing due to college exams and Dan Murray is a major doubt after suffering stomach injury. Eoghan Murphy has been added to the squad from the club’s double-winning Under 19 side.
Cork City boss Tommy Dunne realises his side have a tough night ahead of them.
He said: "We are going to Inchicore, which is never an easy venue, and facing the in-form team in the division.
"They are unbeaten; they have gone to Derry and won, gone to Sligo, and should have won, and they had a great win over Shamrock Rovers as well."
