128 jobs to go in Co Clare
128 jobs are to go at Shannon in Co Clare.
The De Beers industrial diamonds organisation has announced it is closing a section of its manufacturing operation in the town.
The company is citing rapid price declines across product lines and increasing competition in the market place, especially from the Far East, for the announcement.
De Beers employs over 650 people in Shannon but the 128 jobs will go from the end of April.
