Hammers play down Osvaldo reports

West Ham claim they have no interest in signing striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo from Fiorentina.

West Ham claim they have no interest in signing striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo from Fiorentina.

The Hammers had been linked with a transfer-window move for the 22-year-old Argentinian, but their technical director Gianluca Nani has explained otherwise.

“We do not want a team that is too ’Italian’,” Nani told violanews.com.

“Our plan is to build players at home, taken when they are still young.

“Osvaldo is a great striker but is already an important player and falls outside the type of player we are looking for – because we are covered in that role.”
