Dowie set to join Coventry following Heath sacking

Coventry have today parted company with caretaker manager Adrian Heath and are expected to name Iain Dowie as their new boss tomorrow.

Coventry have today parted company with caretaker manager Adrian Heath and are expected to name Iain Dowie as their new boss tomorrow.

Heath took temporary charge of the Sky Blues following the departure of Micky Adams last month, and oversaw one win, a draw and three defeats in five games.

A statement read: "The club would like to extend its sincere thanks to Adrian for his three years with the Sky Blues, which has included two spells as caretaker.

"Coach Darren Robinson, goalkeeping coach Andy Dibble and chief scout George Foster have also left the club. Coventry City would also like to thank all three for their contribution.

"An announcement about the managerial position will be made tomorrow at 9am."

Dowie, who has been out of football since leaving Premiership Charlton last November, is now expected to be named as manager.

City are six points above the Championship relegation zone following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Leicester and have won just once in 13 league and cup matches.
