Gardaí are continuing to question a man suspected of being deeply involved in the violent feud between rival criminal gangs in the Drimnagh and Crumlin areas of south Dublin.

The 34-year-old, who is said to be a leading member of the INLA, was arrested at a house in Tallaght on Sunday night.

He was freed from prison early last year after serving a lengthy sentence and has reportedly been trying to re-establish himself in the Dublin crime scene since then.

He is reported to be behind a string of pipe-bomb attacks and bomb hoaxes targeting drug dealers in south Dublin.
