Pedestrian dies after Leitrim car crash

A man has died following a fatal road crash in Co Leitrim last night.

A man has died following a fatal road crash in Co Leitrim last night.

The collision occurred at Tomrud, Manorhamilton at 9.55pm. The deceased, a 58-year-old pedestrian, was hit by a car.

His body was removed to Sligo General Hospital.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination, and the N16 from Tomrud to Shanvaus will remain closed until approximately 3pm this afternoon.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to phone Manorhamilton Garda Station at 071-9820620.
