QPR have signed young Chelsea striker Ben Sahar on loan for an initial three months.
The 17-year-old – who is already a full international for Israel – has made five substitute appearances for the Blues and is now set to link up with fellow Chelsea youngster Michael Mancienne at Loftus Road.
He is set to make his first appearance for Rangers at Wycombe on Saturday and manager John Gregory believes his time in the Coca-Cola Championship will be a “step up” from reserve team football at Stamford Bridge.
Gregory told Rangers’ official website www.qpr.co.uk: “Although he has got full caps for the national team and has made first-team appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League, it will still be a big step up for Ben to become a regular player in the Championship.
“But we firmly believe it is a step up he is more than capable of achieving.
“It is exciting to have someone of Ben’s undoubted potential being part of our set-up for the new season.
“I use the word ’potential’ because Ben has still got his whole career in front of him at the moment.”
