One Direction want their own TV show.

The 'Best Song Ever' hitmakers could be close to inking a deal for a new prank programme after Louis Tomlinson became hooked on BBC Three's 'Impractical Jokers' and told his band that they could have a future on the small screen.

The hunky five-piece - also made up of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik - have their sights set on becoming the next Jeremy Beadle after falling in love with his hidden-camera series 'Beadle's About'.

Louis is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying said: "We want to do a TV prank show like that new one on BBC Three.

"It was funny and full of practical jokes. We would like to do a show like that and prank celebrities."

Meanwhile, teenage heartthrob Harry - who is arguably the fans' favourite member of the group - was reportedly surrounded by 20 security guards yesterday as he made his way through the airport in New York City following the boy band's premiere for their new movie, 'One Direction: This Is Us', according to the New York Post newspaper.

The 19-year-old old singer doesn't appear to have much luck with avoiding adoring fans as just last month he was almost reduced to tears after his security team lost control of a crowd of screaming girls outside his accommodation in New York City and he was forced to drop to his hands and knees and shuffle to his car.
