Blackburn manager Graeme Souness may look to Italian defender Lorenzo Amoruso to inspire his team-mates for an important Barclaycard Premiership clash with fellow strugglers Leeds.
Amoruso has not started a game since September but a calf injury to Craig Short means Souness may call on the former Rangers player against Leeds tomorrow, or at Fulham on Easter Monday.
The Italian missed the 4-0 drubbing at Anfield after suffering a niggle in training but will be in the squad for Leeds’ visit.
Souness said: “Lorenzo will be in the squad and I hope he will play. He was due to return a couple of weeks ago but he felt the kicking muscle at the top of his thigh.
“He’s had an operation on his knee and after being out for the best part of five months, we eased him back. But he’s now back training and he will join the squad.”
Leeds captain Dominic Matteo believes it is finally time the club broke their season-long failure to win back-to-back matches.
