Cork GAA star Diarmuid O'Sullivan proved his talents in other areas yesterday, scoring a goal and saving a penalty playing soccer at Turner’s Cross.

The All-Star hurling full-back played in Cork's Allianz NHL defeat by Galway at GAA headquarters but a short few hours later he was celebrating a famous victory in the Cork soccer stronghold.

Ballintotis won their first ever trophy since their formation over 25 years ago and O’Sullivan emerged as the hero of the night, according to the Evening Echo.

They beat Mayfield in the St Michael’s AUL Cup final which was watched by over a thousand people and finished 2-2 after 90 minutes.

O’Sullivan scored one of the Ballintotis goals. In a penalty shoot-out, O’Sullivan went into goal to replace regular ‘keeper Pakie O’Mahony. O'Sullivan saved a penalty, then scored the winning penalty.
