Mexico: 'Cannibal' killer hangs himself
A man dubbed “the cannibal” after police found cooked pieces of his murdered girlfriend on a plate in his Mexico City apartment committed suicide today.
Jose Luis Calva was found hanging from his belt in his jail cell in the capital. It was not immediately clear how he came by the belt or whether he had left a suicide note.
Calva, 38, had previously admitted killing his 32-year-old girlfriend Alejandra Galeana but denied eating her, saying he cut up her corpse and cooked it to feed to the dogs to hide evidence of the homicide.
